Trumpets!

Post by monzadave »

Looking at solutions for having fuck all room in the engine page in the Jetta (for several reasons, but mainly that it is a Jetta and not a mk1 Golf).

I have 60mm trumpets at the moment, mainly due to it coming with the carbs when I bought them.

My question is, what would changing to a shorter trumpet actually do? I can vaguely remember reading that is effects torque? Or top end bhp? One of the other.

(I cannot be assed to Google it).

Word up David,
I believe the longer the trumpet the better the torque… reduce the length the less torque you will have…
By how much? I’m sure a professional would shed some light… Jmr??
Short trumpets don’t look as good either, which is much more important?!! :D

Haha, cheers dude.

The latter point seems the most important, but I just want a decent filter setup without having to bin my Fresh Reflection radiator.

I might buy some 26mm ones and see what they fit like.
